2018 EWS INTERNATIONAL presented by INFINITY / VOLANTE
Friday 07 - Sunday 09 December 2018 The Essex Winter Series team, in conjunction with our presenting partners Infinity and Volante, are pleased to announce the 2018 EWS International. Once again, teams and drivers from across the UK and Europe will battle at the largest event in the UK this winter season! Stay up to date with the latest news on our Facebook page. LOCATION & ACCOMODATION The event will take place at our regular EWS location (Deanes School & Sports Centre, Thundersley, Essex, SS7 2TD), on our track of ETS-type carpet at 24x34m - one of the biggest indoor tracks in the world!

ENTRIES Entry fee is £80 per class. Each entry includes two sets of hand-out tyres, the control additive throughout the event (including Friday practice), plus new for this year, each driver will receive a goody bag of prizes and items from our sponsors, included in the entry!
You can make your entry at MyRCM. Please note you will need a MyRCM account! We will have a maximum entry of 130, and your entry is only confirmed once the full payment has been received. Any entries without payment will be moved to the waiting list. Entries will open at 7:30pm UK time (20:30 European time) on Thursday 11 October. For any cancelled entries, a 50% refund can be provided until 25 November, after which no refunds are possible.
RACE FORMAT Friday 07 Dec: Doors open 5:00pm. "Free Practice" in heats from 6:00pm. Hall closes 10:00pm. Saturday 08 Dec: Doors open 7:30am. "Late Arrival" practice (for those not there Friday), followed by Controlled Practice (to seed heats), and Qualifying starts. Sunday 09 Dec: Doors open 7:30am. End of qualifying, raffle/tombola and triple finals. Awards ceremony 4:30pm.
CLASSES AND RULES TOURING CAR MODIFIED Construction: Basic EWS/ETS construction rules. 5mm minimum ride height. Motors: Any Modified motor from BRCA/EFRA/ROAR/IFMAR lists. ESC: Open. Tyre: Volante VT-V5-PG28CP (as per ETS 201/19 indoor). See tyre rules below! Additive: Handout. Tyres may ONLY be cleaned with the additive or regular brake cleaner. Tyre warmers of ANY TYPE are NOT ALLOWED! Bodyshell: Any bodyshell meeting GBS rules (eg BRCA/EFRA approved) Touring Car bodyshell. Rear anti-tuck devices are encouraged. Wing: Maximum width 190mm. Maximum end plate size 40x20mm. The 40x20mm wing gauge must fit over the wing endplates and up to the wing mounting pillars. Beyond this point the wing may not increase in height over its width. Wings must be fixed directly to bodyshell (no spacers etc).

TOURING CAR AMATEUR STOCK General: This class is intended for genuine beginners or amateurs. Drivers with any form of sponsorship (including chassis, electronic or bodyshell manufacturers, distribution businesses or RC model/hobby shops) are not allowed to race in this class! No RC-branded clothing can be worn by drivers in this class ("club" or "event" shirts are OK) Construction: Basic EWS/ETS construction rules. 5mm minimum ride height. Touring Car Tyre Rules Each driver will get two sets of tyres with their marked race number on, to be collected on Friday or Saturday during practice. You do not have to use your marked tyres during practice rounds, but must use them in all qualifying and finals. Maximum is two sets of tyres per driver. You can bring your own tyres for Practice (and there will be tyres available at the race from our on-site shop), but for Qualifying and Finals you must use the marked tyres from us.
Only the removal of the centre rubber mould line is permitted. Any further grinding or sanding of the tyre surface or sidewalls in an attempt to lighten the tyre, change the diameter or structure is strictly forbidden.
LIPO CHARGING Any hard-cased, commercially available 7.4 or 7.6v 2S LiPo may be used. Batteries must have a sticker or moulding on the case clearly marking the manufacturer. All LiPo batteries must be charged in a designated LiPo charging sack. Battery voltages may not exceed 8.40v at any time.
Batteries must be charged or discharged using a LiPo charger on the LiPo settings, and must not be charged/discharged in excess of the manufactures guidelines, or 20A, whichever is lower. No heating or cooling of cells are allowed during charging or discharging.
