EWS Presents THE WINTER WARM UP Sunday 30 September 2018
==== Event ==== To give drivers a chance to practice and test on a full size carpet track and experience conditions they would during a normal winter meeting.
We will build a normal EWS-style track for the one-day event at our regular EWS venue (Deanes Sports Centre, Thundersley (near Southend), Essex, SS7 2TD).
==== Format ==== The day will consist of just controlled practice rounds – between six and eight rounds (depending on the total entry numbers). No qualifying or finals, or championship points. This is therefore a great chance for you to practice and test on a full size carpet track.
==== Rules ==== The only checks we will be making are for 5mm minimum ride height
==== Tyres ==== You may use any rubber tyre – so you can test for any event/series you like.
Additive will be “open” to any approved odourless carpet-type additive. No home-made or mixtures are allowed. Tyre warmers of any type are not allowed.
Current Approved Additive (list can be added to during series): Sweep X2/X4 , MR33/ETS Indoor No 1 , Volante Blue/Purple/Red , CS High Grip , LRP/Nosram Carpet 2/3 , AME MBT Carpet , Hudy Carpet Gripper , SXT 3.0 , Trinity Sticky Fingers , Spider Grip Green/Blue.
Tyres may be cleaned with these additives or regular brake cleaner only.
==== Classes ==== We will create categories for Modified, Super Stock (13.5 Blinky) and Amateur Stock (17.5 Blinky, Handout Motor, No Sponsors) in line with EWS classes.
==== Batteries ==== For all touring car classes competitors must use 7.4v or 7.6v (2 cell) commercially available (in the UK) hard cased LiPo batteries. Batteries must be charged to a maximum of 8.40v. Whilst connected to a charger/discharger batteries must be securely placed in a LiPo sack. Batteries must be charged or discharged using a LiPo charger on the LiPo settings, and must not be charged/discharged in excess of the manufactures guidelines, or 20A, whichever is lower. No heating or cooling of cells are allowed during charging or discharging.
==== Entry Procedure ==== Entries are now open and will be on a strictly first come-first served basis. Entry fee will be £16, payable when you enter. When entries are full, reserve lists will be in place but we will try to accommodate as many drivers as possible. Once entries are paid for, no refunds will be provided. Any driver entering and then not attending and failing to notify the organisers will be placed at the back of the reserve list for all further rounds.
